Who we are
Cottage Flowers & More is a florist working from a home studio at Sunnymead, Frost Lane, Ilminster, Somerset TA19 9EU. We are responsible for the personal information you give us through this website. If you have any questions about it, email us at [email protected] or call 01460 53020.
What we collect
When you send us an enquiry, a wedding enquiry or a workshop booking request, we receive what you type into the form: your name and email address, and anything else you choose to give us, such as your phone number, the date and venue of your event, the workshop you are interested in, how many people are coming, and your message.
If you tick the box asking to hear from us, we also keep a record that you agreed, the exact wording you agreed to, and when.
To stop the forms being misused by automated spam, the website briefly counts how many messages arrive from each internet (IP) address. That count is deleted automatically after an hour.
What we do not collect
We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking tools on this website, and the website does not set any cookies of its own. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, may occasionally set a strictly necessary security cookie to protect the site from attacks.
The links to our Instagram page take you to Instagram, and Instagram's own privacy policy then applies.
How we use your information
We use your details to reply to your enquiry and to arrange the flowers, workshop or event you have asked about. The law allows us to do this because you have asked us to, and because answering enquiries is in our legitimate interests.
We will only send you news and offers if you ticked the box to say yes. You can unsubscribe at any time by replying to one of our emails or by contacting us.
We never sell or rent your information to anyone.
Who helps us
A small number of trusted companies handle your information on our behalf, only to run this website and to deliver your messages to us:
- Cloudflare hosts the website and securely stores the enquiries sent through it.
- Resend delivers enquiry emails to our inbox.
- Phat Digital, who look after this website for us, receive a copy of each enquiry so that none goes unanswered.
Some of these companies may process information outside the UK. Where they do, they use safeguards recognised under UK data protection law.
How long we keep it
Enquiries sent through the website are kept in the website's secure store for up to 180 days and are then deleted automatically. Emails about your enquiry, and any booking or order details, are kept for as long as we need them to look after you and to meet our legal and accounting obligations. If you agreed to hear from us, we keep that record until you unsubscribe.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it or delete it, object to how we use it, or ask us to stop sending you news and offers. Contact us using the details above and we will respond within one month, free of charge.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
